Publish Snapshot

Overview

Version 1.19 of the Solsta Desktop Client introduced the ability to publish a snapshot. Publish means making any Solsta deployments available for download in the original file format or an archive (.zip file). This can be useful for storing builds in a separate system, or future functionality on the Solsta roadmap.

Notes:

  • Only users with an Admin role are able to publish snapshots
  • All users with access to an environment are able to download published assets
  • The default size limit for each publish job is 20GB. Please open a support ticket if you want to publish larger assets.

How to Publish

Video - Publish Snapshot Steps
  1. Click on your Product → Environment → History tab
  2. Click on menu button for the snapshot you want to publish
  3. Select Publish snapshot from the context menu
  4. Fill out the fields in the Publish Snapshot modal:
    • Name: Friendly name for published asset
    • Description: Description of published asset
    • Filename: use .zip extension to have the SolstaAPI package the files in your snapshot into a compressed archive. Forsingle-file deployments, you can use the same extension as the original file, for example: duckduckgo-play-release.apk
    • Custom Releases: select different releaseversions to include in the published package instead of the one specified inthe snapshot. For example: if the snapshot includes version 3 of thegameclient, you can specify version 2 instead.
  5. Click Ok

From here, our API will package your files into your specified file type. Go to the Jobs tab to check the progress of your publish job.
